Block party set for Thursday on 18th Ave NW – Austin Daily Herald


A block party will be held all day Thursday along the 18th Avenue NW corridor.

The day will be packed with events and catering at area businesses, including food trucks, and tours of the Austin Fire and Police Departments and the Austin Bruins mascot Bruiser, among others. .

Program

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.: StageCoach BBQ & Grill

10 a.m. to 7 p.m.: Plant Peanut Mobile

11 a.m. to 6 p.m.: B-Low Zero Snow Cones & Mini Donuts

3-6 p.m.: Free pony rides

5-7 p.m.: Megan’s Syrup Co, Austin Fire Truck and Sparky, Mayo Ambulance and Austin Police Car

• Apples: gift bags for children

• Wireless cricket: toss of beanbags, children’s treats and flyers

• Culvers: Free Custard School, 4-7 p.m. for all children 12 and under

• Five below: sidewalk sale and candy for children

• Games People Play: Sidewalk Sale and In-Store Specials (Bruiser 4-6 p.m.)

• Super Clips: Kids Tattoos & $2 Coupon

• Hair Shook: Bags of candy for kids and coupons on merchandise (4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

• Pet Supply Plus: 25-75% off, treat bags for dogs, cats and children. Demo of Dr. Marty with free samples, face painting.

• Pizza Hut: From 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the first 20 children receive a free personal single-topping pizza (Big Bird)

• Pizza Ranch: outdoor games from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., drawings to be won and freezies (chicken and pizza mascots)

• Qdoba: photos with Bruiser, 12-2 p.m., face painting tattoos, free kids’ meal with purchase of adult dish

• Sally Beauty Supply: nail demonstration

• Shoe Sensation: Sidewalk sale, 9 a.m. Free Jimmy Johns sandwich with the purchase of Charly shoes (Big Bird and Bruiser, 2 p.m.-4 p.m.)
