Clark County Animal Shelter distributes bags of pet food

The animal shelter gave out free dog and cat food on Saturday

WINCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Clark County Animal Shelter is helping people who might need pet food get it for their furry friends.

On Saturday, the animal shelter donated 2 pallets full of cat and dog food to the community of Tire Outlet on Maple Street.

The shelter says the additional pet food donation comes from the Chewy Pet Supply Company and the Humane Society of the United States.

A trailer truck loaded with food was dropped off by the two Paris Humane Society organizations a few weeks ago, and the shelter decided to split the wealth.

Clark County Animal Shelter says it distributed the Paris Humane Society donation last month and about 30 families came. When ABC 36 stopped at the start of the drive-thru this morning, about fifteen families had already picked up food.

“Our department is lucky. We have a number of services for people who may be struggling with housing, utilities or food. We want people to know we are here to help and we will do our best to share this information with them and provide them with the resources they need,” said Clark County Animal Shelter Director Adreanna Wills. .

Clark County Animal Shelter reminds the community that it always has pet food available for those who need it for pickup.
