Dick’s Sporting Goods Warehouse Store opened in Cherry Hill

Dick’s Sporting Goods has opened a warehouse sale store in Cherry Hill in the Cherry Hill Plaza. The building is next to the mall and also houses eSporta, Chuck E Cheese and others.

Dick’s Warehouse Sale Store is right next to Pure Hockey. Aldi is across the parking lot.

I visited the store on Friday.

Although it looks a lot like a temporary effort store (discount stores want low prices), the Cherry Hill location is a very large space at 32,000 square feet. It is filled with sportswear and other merchandise.

To be clear, this is primarily a clothing and sneaker store, and during my visit I saw very little fitness equipment available..

In reality on the site they feature eight different product categories and all of them are “things you wear”. Clothing, shoes and clothing accessories.

We’ve heard off the record that they have an initial 6 month plan for the space that will see them through the holiday shopping season (and time for returns). Based on sales success, they will then decide on longer term plans for the Cherry Hill Warehouse store.

Dick’s also maintains their website clearance and transaction sections.

They have one coupon available online for $10 off your purchase of $50 or more. Valid until 22/09/2022/

The Sale Plaza mall will soon be opening a Spirit Halloween store, and Total Wine is moving within the Plaza to a larger unit that will double in size! (42Highway)

Dick’s Warehouse Sale – Clothing is the Business

So if you’re interested in sportswear and athletic shoes, there’s a huge amount of stuff in the store…but it might take some time to find what you’re looking for.

One of the drivers for this new brand of Dick’s stores is that they are able to sell the remaining styles/sizes from traditional Dick’s sporting goods stores and website sales.

Consider a scenario where traditional stores introduced a sneaker and initially had 100 pairs in stock in various sizes. Then at some point Dick’s chooses to bring in a different style of shoe… so what do they do with the remaining 6 sneakers out of the 100 initials? They send it to the warehouse sale store!

I would expect them to also fill the stores with products purchased specifically for the Warehouse Store brand.

But expect everything to be significantly reduced.

The website says the discounts are until 70% off and new items arriving weekly.

Dick’s Sporting Goods seems fully committed to this concept, as they are opening dozens of these stores across the country. The website lists over 50 locations.

In the immediate Philadelphia area, they also list Warehouse stores also at Liberty Plaza (Franklin Mills) and King of Prussia.

New Jersey also has 2 other stores, but they are in North Jersey; Rockaway and Watchung.

When I visited last Friday, the store was very well organized.

In keeping with the discount warehouse theme, it’s basically unfinished concrete floors and clothes racks.

They separated the products into sections with signs hanging from the ceiling marking the sections.. as “Women”

The products on the shelves were very well organized and held together. I really didn’t spend a lot of time delving into the products, but it was very easy to notice multiple items grouped together.

Honestly, it looked like A LOT more clothing options than what I saw in the traditional store
