GALAX, Va. (WFXR) – As health officials report an increase in rabies cases in Carroll, Grayson and Galax counties, a local animal shelter is encouraging community members to protect their furry friends by bringing in a low cost vaccination clinic. Saturday.
According to the Galax Carroll Grayson Animal Shelter, for $ 25 – cash only – your pet can receive both the rabies and distemper vaccine. However, to get a three-year vaccination you must present an up-to-date rabies certificate, not a badge.
Pre-registration is encouraged, but not required for this event, which is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 30 at the Galax Carroll Grayson Animal Shelter at 200 Fair Street in Galax.
Organizers say they will provide free food and pet supplies to attendees while supplies last.
