Howl-O-Ween Pet Adoption Event Set for Saturday at D&S Harley-Davidson
October 27 — Dog and cat lovers will have the opportunity to celebrate Halloween with their furry friends, enjoy Halloween treats and maybe even help save kittens and puppies.
D&S Harley-Davidson, at 3846 S. Pacific Highway, will host a Howl-O-Ween animal adoption event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 29. The event includes a pet costume contest, photos on a Harley-Davidson and adoptable dogs from Yreka Rescue Ranch, as well as Siberian huskies and German shepherds from Goliath Mountain Rescue in Yreka and kittens and cats from Melly Cat Rescue in Rogue Valley.
The event will feature at least two cats with Halloween-themed nicknames — a burnt orange cat named Pumpkin and a fluffy orange feline named Jelly Bean — and a slew of pups with ’80s-themed names like Atari, Rubik’s and Sega.
Kim O’Toole, co-owner of D&S Harley, said her team, which returned to its Phoenix location in June after rebuilding following the Almeda fire, said it was looking forward to the chance to see “so many cute cats and dogs”. .”
“It’s so exciting to be back in our building where we can once again host these events for the community, for charities, for local animal rescues,” O’Toole said.
“We think we’ll have three (organizations) of rescues, so there will be so many cute faces. I know there will also be an adorable litter of Pit puppies.”
Participants are encouraged to bring their own pets to the store in costume to win prizes and enter sweepstakes. Vendors including Red Dog Pet Supply and Figaro’s Pizza will also be present. All proceeds will go to participating rescues.
