Monmouth Regional Chamber of Commerce seeks Athena Award nominees

Are you or do you know an ATHENA leader? The Monmouth Regional Chamber of Commerce (MRCC) ATHENA Awards Committee is now seeking 2,022 nominees from across the state of New Jersey who represent the ideals honored at this important annual signing event. Applications must be submitted no later than Thursday, June 30, 2022.

The prestigious International ATHENA Leadership Award® program celebrates women as valued community members and leaders who serve as role models in many ways. The ATHENA Awards honor nominees in recognition of their business or professional achievements, community service and mentorship of other women, encouraging them to achieve their full potential. ATHENA candidates give back to the community in deeply meaningful ways and make it a better place to live, work and lead.

Each year the Monmouth Regional Chamber of Commerce is proud to present the ATHENA Leadership Award and the ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award at a Gala Luncheon, this year scheduled for Friday November 4, 2022 at the beautiful Jumping Brook Country Club in Neptune , NJ . This marks the 37and year in which MRCC is privileged to be the only organization in New Jersey officially authorized to present the ATHENA Leadership Award, whose rich history, international reach and emphasis on mentorship distinguish it as one of the awards of leadership that can be received. This is the eighth year that MRCC will present the ATHENA Young Leadership Award, recognizing emerging community leaders.

Garden State businesses, organizations, communities and individuals are encouraged to submit nominations for those who meet the award criteria. Past nominees and winners come from all walks of life, have had careers in all industries, and champion a variety of causes.

To be considered for an ATHENA Leadership Award, nominees may represent the for-profit or non-profit sector and must demonstrate excellence, creativity, and initiative in their business or profession; provide a valuable service to improve the quality of life of others in their community; and actively supporting women to realize their full leadership potential. The ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award recognizes emerging community leaders between the ages of 24 and 40.

Past recipients of the ATHENA Leadership Award are not eligible for nomination; however, former candidates may be reappointed. There is no minimum or maximum age qualification that must be met by applicants for the ATHENA Leadership Award; Applicants for the ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award must be between the ages of 24 and 40. To be considered as finalists, applicants must be available to personally attend the ATHENA Awards Luncheon on November 4, where all finalists will be recognized.

Monmouth Regional Chamber of Commerce seeks nominees for Athena 3 Award

The ATHENA Program Committee will review each application form to ensure that it meets the qualifications and eligibility based on the criteria outlined above and to select finalists, using a scoring system by headings. Submission of a form does not guarantee nomination as a finalist. Applicants will be notified of their application status after the submission deadline.

The ATHENA Award Selection Committee, comprised of a diverse group of community leaders, will then review the finalist nominations and select the ATHENA Leadership Award and ATHENA Young Leadership Award winners, who will be announced at the ATHENA Awards Luncheon.
