New Jersey residents among the best winemakers in the world

I know you don’t necessarily think of New Jersey when you think of the best winemakers in the world, but think again.

Some of the best winemakers in the country reunited in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, recently taste each other’s know-how and seek to improve the quality of their wine.

These events are organized as a chance for winemakers to taste each other’s wine and network, to learn new tips and tricks on how to improve their own products.

Each attendee provides attendees with information about their respective wines, such as where the grapes come from and how they are made into such a delicious drink.

All of the attendees were pretty impressive, but of course the ones from New Jersey caught my attention.

Representatives from Alba Vineyard and Bellview Vineyard attended the event with the goal of making New Jersey wine the best in the country. Alba presented a 2020 Grand Reserve Pinot Noir to attendees and Belleville presented a 2020 San Marco.

Throughout the tasting experience, the winegrowers shared the whole process of their vinification with each other. This allowed the group to learn how to manage their wine grapes in the event of changing weather or out of season.

Winemaking techniques vary across the world due to nature and geography and often people are not exposed to winemaking outside of their geographic area. This conference was also a unique opportunity for people to taste wine from their own state, as places like New Jersey only started producing their own wine in the last two decades.

The event started in 2017 and aims to continue every year in order to bring this special experience to more winemakers. If you are interested in this event or the American wine making process yourself, this is a cool event to check out.
