Whitney is a 2 year old shorthaired black cat available for adoption through the Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter.

Whitney arrived at YVAS in July as a stray while still nursing kittens. The kittens have all found homes, and now Whitney is looking for a home of her own.

She is a sweet cat who is playful and loves toys that make noise. She would probably do well in a house with other pets and be a good family cat.

Whitney is sterilized, vaccinated and microchipped.

To adopt Whitney, contact YVAS by dialing 294-7387 or by visiting the shelter located at 1735 Monad Road. Her adoption fees were sponsored.

YVAS is open from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday; and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The refuge is closed on Wednesdays.

YVAS offers monthly sterilization and sterilization clinics at low cost. The next clinic will be on Saturday October 23. Cats cost $ 45 and dogs $ 55 for sterilization, in addition to low cost vaccination and microchip options. Registration for the October clinic begins Friday October 1 at the shelter. Payment is required to make an appointment; cash or credit / debit cards are accepted. Appointments will not be made by phone.

The shelter’s Feline Fan Club offers children the opportunity to get involved at the shelter. The monthly event encourages children ages 5-9 to come practice their literacy skills by reading to shelter animals.
