Prepare to meet your new furry best friend with the local animal rescues that have back-to-back adoption events in the South Okanagan.

The Critteraid Animal Sanctuary in Summerland has a large group of shy and sweet cats ready to meet their perfect match, and what better way to throw a night out than in a black tie, or in this case, black tails.

“We ask everyone to wear their best clothes and join us for an amazing adoption event,” said Jess Byer, Animal Director at Critteraid.

The event takes place on the evening of July 23 and will be set up by appointment only.

“And it’s more of a blind date setup. So come on and we’ll see who we can match you with.”

Then on July 24, Paws & Claws in Oliver and Critteraid will be participating in a fundraiser at Lucky’s Pet Supply in Penticton.

Christmas in July kicks off at the boutique from 10 a.m., with lots of games and gifts. Animals can take pictures with Santa from noon or participate in the puppy eating contest.

The kittens will also be up for adoption,

A silent online auction alongside the event runs July 17-24, with all proceeds going to animal rescue.

If you want more information about any of these events, send an email [email protected] or contact Lucky Pets.
