Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino today announced that the town’s animal shelter will waive adoption fees throughout September.
âI invite and encourage residents looking for a new pet to register with the city animal shelter during the month of September as the adoption overhead fee will be waived. and has a long history of uniting those looking for the perfect new furry companion, âsaid Supervisor Saladino.
During the month of September, the shelter will waive the general adoption fee of $ 80 per dog and $ 84 per cat. All usual adoption services will be provided, including animal sterilization, vaccination and microchipping. Residents interested in seeing animals available for adoption can call the shelter to make an appointment or visit www.oysterbaytown.com.
In addition to the free adoption month, the City will be holding a free rabies vaccination clinic at the animal shelter on September 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. No reservations are necessary, and the clinic will also offer pet microchips for $ 25. If a pet is lost, it can be taken to a veterinary clinic or animal shelter where it will be scanned for microchip identification and returned to its rightful owner.
The Town of Oyster Bay Animal Shelter is located at 150 Miller Place in Syosset. The refuge is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Saturday.
